Welcome to Maias Netball. The safety, well-being, and privacy of all participants, staff, and visitors are a top priority. This page outlines our Health & Safety Policy and Media & Photography Terms & Conditions, including guidance for in-person, at-home, and virtual sessions.
Purpose
The purpose of this Health & Safety Policy is to ensure the well-being of all participants, visitors, staff, and volunteers involved in Maias Netball activities. All members are expected to follow guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Scope
This policy applies to:
All netball training sessions, matches, and events organized by Maias Netball.
Visitors, parents, coaches, referees, and volunteers at Maias Netball events.
Use of facilities affiliated with Maias Netball.
At-home or virtual training sessions provided by Maias Netball.
Responsibilities
Participants: Follow all safety instructions, wear appropriate clothing, and report any injuries immediately.
Coaches & Staff: Supervise activities, maintain a safe environment, and provide first aid when necessary.
Parents/Guardians: Ensure a safe space at home for virtual sessions and supervise younger participants.
Visitors: Adhere to site rules and guidance provided by staff.
Health & Safety Guidelines
In-person sessions:
Warm-ups and stretching must be done before all sessions.
Proper footwear and attire are required during training and matches.
Report hazards immediately to coaches or staff.
First aid kits are available at all venues; trained personnel are present at designated sessions.
At-home/Virtual sessions:
Ensure a clear, safe space free of obstacles to prevent trips or falls.
Use appropriate footwear and non-slip surfaces.
Equipment (e.g., balls, cones) should be safe and suitable for home use.
Follow the instructor’s guidance carefully; avoid attempting exercises beyond your ability.
Minors should have parental supervision during virtual sessions.
Report any injuries or incidents immediately to your coach or parent/guardian.
Accidents & Reporting
All accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately. A record will be kept, and appropriate action will be taken to prevent recurrence.
Liability
Maias Netball is committed to safety but cannot accept responsibility for injuries resulting from failure to comply with safety instructions, misuse of equipment, or unsafe home environments. Participants and guardians acknowledge these risks.
Virtual Session Disclaimer
Participants and/or their guardians acknowledge that participation in at-home or virtual sessions involves certain inherent risks. Maias Netball provides guidance and instruction but cannot guarantee a completely risk-free environment. By taking part in virtual sessions, participants agree to follow safety instructions and accept responsibility for their own safety.
Purpose
Maias Netball may capture photographs, videos, or other media during training, matches, events, or virtual sessions for promotional, educational, and social media purposes. These Terms & Conditions outline how media is used and the rights of participants.
Consent
By participating in Maias Netball activities, whether in-person or online, participants (or their guardians, if under 18) consent to:
Being photographed or filmed during sessions, matches, events, or virtual training.
Use of images or video for marketing, social media, website content, newsletters, or publications related to Maias Netball.
Privacy
No personal information (e.g., full name, contact details) will be shared publicly without consent.
Media will be stored securely and used responsibly in line with data protection regulations.
Virtual/Online Session Media
Screenshots, recordings, or images captured during online/virtual sessions may be used for promotional purposes in the same way as in-person media.
Participants should ensure a safe and appropriate environment during virtual sessions; background personal information should not be disclosed inadvertently.
Maias Netball encourages appropriate attire and conduct during virtual sessions.
Withdrawal of Consent
Participants or guardians can request removal of their images from Maias Netball media by contacting enquiries@maiasnetball.com. Requests will be actioned promptly, though past publications or shared content may not be retractable.
Restrictions
Media captured by Maias Netball may not be used by third parties without explicit permission.
Any misuse of media may result in legal action.
Liability
Maias Netball is not responsible for media shared by external parties outside of the organisation’s control. Participation in online sessions carries the understanding that any images captured may be used for promotional purposes, provided participants follow the guidance outlined above.
